Baobab Update from Shark Tank

  • by

Baobab is a stylish clothing brand that was featured on Shark Tank in season 11. The clothing company was presented as having the “perfect polo shirt” – but was it enough to get the sharks to bite? Find out what happened after the show below.

Baobab Update

1) Brandon Davenport and Marcellus Alexander III are the co-founders of the clothing company. They are longtime friends who found themselves annoyed that high priced clothes didn’t last long after wash cycles. So, they made it their mission to change that. Their goal? Create an “undeniably better” polo shirt.

2) Brandon and Marcellus developed the first sustainable, luxury polo shirt that doesn’t shrink or fade. They even have a patent pending “stay flat” collar aka: no more curled shirt collars! Combining high quality design (shirts are made with pima cotton) with superior functionality is what makes their polo unique.

3) Currently, they have short and long sleeved polo shirts available. Colors include black, navy, heather grey, white, light blue, red, emerald, and army green. Short sleeve sizes range from S-4XL; long sleeved ranges from S-XXL. They are selling out, so shop now!

4) To keep up with the changing times, the duo also created masks. They have reusable face masks and a twill and linen version. They managed to find a way to expand their line, despite not getting a deal on Shark Tank.

5) In addition to being co-founders of Baobab, Brandon and Marcellus also work at Shopify and Colgate, respectively. Their LinkedIns mention business and finance degrees, so the two have put those to great use.
