Everyone has dreams, and for those that want to make it big in the music industry, that’s where American Idol comes into play. People from all over the country audition every year, vying for that coveted ticket to Hollywood. One person who will make their TV debut on season 21 of the show is Colin Stough. Learn about him, including his hometown, background and relationship, below with these five facts.
1) He is from Amory, Mississippi and graduated from Hatley High School in 2022. It’s also where he played football.
2) Colin dated girlfriend Emma Long in high school, where she would cheer him on from the stands at football games. In 2021, he penned this sweet post to her, writing: “Your the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.. I love you hunny❤️.”
As of December 2022, they are still together because she snapped these photos of Colin at Christmastime. “~ hope y’all had a merry chrima 🎁~#christmastime🎄#rockandroll Pic creds ~ @emmamichaelyn,” he wrote on Instagram.
3) Like a lot of musicians nowadays, the 18-year-old regularly posts snippets of songs on TikTok. He has 1,112 followers and 5,589 likes; we have a feeling those numbers will skyrocket after his Idol audition.
4) If there’s one thing to know about Colin, it’s that he makes a hat part of his signature look. He even wore one to his audition for Idol.
5) According to the Monroe Journal, Colin’s sound “embodies traditional country music.” But, he’s played “everything from ‘50s rockabilly and classic rock to modern-day country hits and his own originals.” His mom signed him up for the New Orleans auditions for American Idol, and Colin is determined to pave his own way in the music industry.
