5 Facts About Controlled Chaos

1) Alanna York invented Controlled Chaos. She appeared on Shark Tank season 7 with Erica Gray. Alanna was the driving force behind the company, and owns a hair salon in Portland, Maine.

2) Alanna’s haircare line Use Me is how Controlled Chaos is sold, originally out of the salon. But, with popularity growing, Alanna decided to present it at beauty shows. Despite this soft launch not going smoothly, Alanna did not give up. She and Erica are going to pitch on Shark Tank after applying a few times.

3) On Shark Tank season 7, the duo presented their line of haircare products and stylers for curly hair. Formulated with violet extract, it leaves curls feeling silky and frizz-free. Hair moisturizer, cleanser, curl reviver and defining cream are only a few of the lovely products in their line. It’s available on their website and on Amazon.

4) Alanna and Erica asked for $50,000 for 20%. The deal was with Lori Greiner for $60,000 for 50%. Lori’s QVC connections made her an obvious choice as a perfect shark to help them along.

5) Nowadays, they have an independent distribution facility with new employees. Sales have skyrocketed, and there are deals with retailers in the works. Annual revenue is $3.5 million. They have 191K followers on Instagram, so their social media presence is strong.
