Who is Erika Perry from American Idol?

American Idol continues its audition process on February 28. One new contestant who will take the stage is Erika Perry. We’ve got five facts about the American Idol hopeful below. So, keep reading to learn more about Erika.

Update 3/21/21: Erika let everyone know her boyfriend broke up with her right before she auditioned for American Idol. She went out to sing for her Hollywood Week solo and the first try she forgot the words and had to start over. The guys in the audience seemed to be behind her. Unfortunately she didn’t move on to Hollywood Duets week.

1) While Erika shares the same last name as judge Katy Perry, there’s no relation.

2) Speaking of Katy though, Erika does go by “E.T.” because she’s “out of this world.” If you recall, Katy released a track in 2011 called “E.T.”

3) Erika was born on Feb. 19. Her sun sign is Pisces. Pisces women are known for being generous, impressionable, and crafty.

4) Her signature look consists of long, wavy, jet black hair. For her audition, she wore a unique cutout outfit, complete with a long, fur trim duster. It will definitely make her stand out in the crowd.

5) Her Instagram handle is an homage to her “extraterrestrial” nature as it’s @phonehomebabyET. Erika’s unique look will serve her well, but will it be enough to get her a golden ticket?
