The Ultimate Surfer is a series on ABC on August 16, 2021 at 10 pm EST. It showcases the world’s greatest up-and-coming surfers to train and live together. They have to compete with each other at the Kelly Slater Wave Company. The host of this show will be Kelly Slater. Who is Kelly Slater?
Kelly Slater was born on February 11, 1972 in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
He is in a relationship with Kalani Miller who, at the time, he hadn’t seen in a while according to this Instagram post where he said, “Happy Birthday, my love. Some of our finest (and not so finest 😂) moments! So many memories. Hope you have a beautiful day. See you soon.”
Kalani Miller, Kelly Slater’s girlfriend is a coach and designer for the swimwear and ready to wear line, MIKOH which can be found at shop.mikoh.com. She also models for her own line where she can be seen in MIKOH loungewear in an outfit called Kimo 2 and Fumi in Pistachio and Mirai.
Kelly has one daughter named Taylor who was born in 1996 and is currently 24 years old. He shares Taylor with his former girlfriend, Tamara.
He has two other brothers and is close to his mother. He posted a Happy Mother’s Day message in 2020 saying, “#HappyMothersDay, Mom. Thanks for bringing me in and showing me the ropes! You’ve done more than we’ll ever know, and I know much of it is thankless and tiring and confusing and annoying, especially with 3 boys. I also know you’d have it no other way. 🙂🙏🏽”
Kelly loves watches and actually helped design his own timepiece from Outer Known which was made of Eonyl Brand’s recycled nylon. This helped his philosophical work as each watch that was sold lead to a $500 per watch donation to The Nature Conservancy.
Kelly takes part in many surfing competitions and events. One of wchich was the “Ain’t That Swell” at the Torquay Bowls Club. At this event he had a chance to dive into old times and see so many other pros.
He is also a Jiu Jitsu participant. You can see him here with Frank from Off the Grid Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Cocoa Beach.
Kelly also has a little claim to fame when he spent the day with Bill Murray out on the golf course. He calls it “a memorable day in my life.”
