Shark Tank

5 Facts on Pricklee from Shark Tank

We know water isn’t the first thing one thinks of when you hear about a cactus.  Maybe you would think of a desert, sand, everything dry.  Well Pricklee has a different idea.  They are naming their product the nation’s ultimate thirst quencher.  Where does it come from?  A cactus!  The owners of Pricklee are taking their thirst quencher to the Shark Tank stage to see if a shark will bite.  What is Pricklee all about?  Let’s find out.

1.  Pricklee was started by five healthcare who don’t like coconut water.

They were searching for an alternative when Mo, one of the founders remembered one of his favorite childhood beverages when he was growing up in Lebanon.  It was a drink using the delicious fruit of the cactus, known as the prickly pear.

What does Pricklee, the juice from the fruit of a cactus, taste like?

According to Mo and his family, it tasted like a combination of watermelon and bubblegum.  You can imagine how much kids would clamor to get something that tasty.

2.  You may be curious why you should drink cactus water over coconut water.

According to pricklee.com, cactus water is half the sugar and half the calories of coconut water.  Prickly pears are filled with natural antioxidants too which can help boost immunity, skin health, and recovery (muscle, exercise, and dietary). (pricklee.com)

3.  The team took to the beaches of sunny Los Angeles to see what people would think of Prickly.  Take a look below to see what everyone had to say.

4.  Very excited to be on Shark Tank, Pricklee took to Instagram to share the news and also share a special deal in celebration of the special airing, buy two cases and get one free, through Friday, May 6th.

5.  Pricklee comes in multiple flavors including Prickly Pear, Strawberry Hibiscus, Mango Ginger, and Variety Pack.  The products come in cases of 12.  If you are part of the “Cactus Club” you can save 15% off a case and receive regular deliveries.

6.  The products are Stevia and gluten free totaling only 35 calories each.

7.  Pricklee is also looking for those out there who love the drink as much as they do to become ambassadors of the brand.  What are the perks?
