Shark Tank

An Update on SingTrix from Shark Tank

SingTrix is a modern karaoke machine pitched on Shark Tank in season 6. What the iconic Guitar Hero did for guitar fanatics, SingTrix wants to do for karaoke fans. Since two creators of Guitar Hero are behind the product, it’s a cool invention that has potential staying power. But, was it enough for any sharks to bite? Find out what happened during and after Shark Tank below, plus where the business is now.

SingTrix Update

1) John Devecka and Eric Berkowitz created SingTrix. It differs from traditional karaoke machines because you can actually modify your voice to mimic that of your favorite singers. You can also add harmonies, or plug in a phone or tablet to play music from. If you’d prefer, you can use their library of songs, which comes with the kit.

2) The kit comes with a mic stand, two microphones, a speaker, and holders for your phone or tablet. Adjusting the vocal levels allows for so-so singers to turn into rock gods. Since John and Eric helped create Guitar Hero, safe to say they know what they’re talking about!

3) When they entered the tank, they asked for $1.5 million for 5%, according to Shark Tank Blog. None of the sharks went for that deal, and they left without one. But, they did impress the sharks with their wide range of vocal effects and how it worked.

4) The duo hit a snag when their factory burnt down, and their deal with VOXX Electronics dissolved. In 2019, they ran a successful IndieGoGo campaign, securing funds for a less expensive system of SingTrix.

5) Currently, the business does about $5 million in annual revenue. They have over 12,000 followers on social media, and the company’s doing quite well. You can shop the product on their website or Amazon.
