5 Facts & Update on Swimply from Shark Tank

  • by

Swimply is being touted as the next Airbnb. The owner, Bunim Laskin steps out on the Shark Tank stage to present his company idea to the sharks. So what is Swimply and what is the update? Find out below!

1 Bunim Laskin is a 22 year old who lived in Israel until he was 15 then moved to Lakewood, New Jersey.

2. Bunim has 11 brothers and sisters. When they were younger, he discovered an opportunity. His next door neighbor had a pool put in. They made a deal with the neighbor to pay 25% of the maintenance expenses of the pool so the children could use the pool at their neighbor’s house. A lightbulb went off. Bunim wanted to see if more people would be willing to rent out “pool space/time” and they sure did.

3. The program is pretty simple and an excellent alternative way to pay for the expenses of a pool. You can “become a host” and rent out time in your pool to others. The money can pay for maintenance of the pool or even be a side income.

4. Swimply creates a new way to celebrate. You can join with your group, find a host who offers a pool and go enjoy. It’s your private pool to enjoy!

Update on Swimply from Shark Tank

5. Swimply is an app which is currently offered in the United States of America and Australia. Their Instagram has over 9400 followers, and their Facebook has 1900 followers. Both accounts are updated recently. It looks like the app has 32 reviews with a 4 out of 5 stars ratings on Google Play and 45 reviews with a 4.5 out of 5 stars on the app store. It looks like this is a new idea which can end up growing quite a bit and possibly a good little side business for pool owners.

Did Swimply Get a Deal from Shark Tank?

Unfortunately, after a lot of talking, Bunim didn’t get a deal from any of the sharks even after claiming a $289 million valuation in 3 years.
