1) Beth Zotter and Amanda Stiles founded Umaro. Beth and Amanda have science and technology backgrounds. Now, they are both businesswomen.

2) The product is bacon. But, the bacon is plant-based. Furthermore, it’s made from seaweed. Ocean-farmed seaweed is high in protein and sustainable.

3) At this time, the bacon is not in stores or online yet. But, if you sign up on their website, you will be notified when it does launch. It should be noted the goal is for an end of year launch.

4) Future plans include mass seaweed farming and continuing their research. It’s especially important for them to grow the seaweed space.

5) Since it could have a place in specialty or grocery stores, maybe a shark can make that happen. Despite not having a product on the market, they were featured in Food Network Magazine. Whether or not they get a deal, the sharks are sure to be impressed with the press.
