The Yard Milkshake Bar was invented by couple, Logan and Chelsea Green. In 2011, Chelsea along with her mother opened up an ice cream shop. Fast forward 6 years and the mother daughter duo had two shops. However, Chelsea was motivated for more! This is when Chelsea and Logan decided to make The Yard Milkshake Bar.

What’s unique about it? These milkshakes are served in stylish mason jars which make it very picture friendly. This is a perfect quality to have in the day and age of Instagram. Customers were super excited to put their decadent and stylish jars up on their social media profiles. The shakes are topped with delicious cake, candy, and sauce.

At the time of the episode, they only had 4 locations. Those locations altogether made over $3 million in sales. The couple profited $400,000.

What did the sharks have to say about the new milkshake bar? Kevin O’Leary was interested to purchase everything including the shops and franchises. He offered $400,000 for 15%.

Lori Greiner, Queen of QVC saw the value in this pitch too. She offered the same as Kevin but for 12.5%.

Mark Cuban, the billionaire of the panel is not interested in just the shops. He gave them $400,000 for 25%. They countered him and they settled on a deal of $400k for 22%.

They have been a huge success! Not only have they opened up a plethora of new shops all over the country, but they also continue growing on social media too. However, the deal with Mark Cuban reportedly never closed.

They currently have over 200k followers on Instagram. They have also been seen on NBC’s Today Show.

The Yard Milkshake Bar has grown exponentially. They currently have 24 locations. The first shop was opened in the couples’ hometown of Gulf Shores, Alabama. The popularity caused the couple to open up more shops.

They are reportedly bringing in over $1.3 million per shop annually.

How Do the Franchises Work?

They are sold for $45,000. They sign on for a 10 year license. There is also a 6% royalty on sales and a 2% marketing royalty. Local advertising is 1% of sales.
