American Idol season 21 is premiering on February 19. The new season promises to bring fans fresh talent, and no one is more unique than Bre Podgorski. The musician is not only a singer, but a producer and piano player too. Get to know her below with these five facts.
Who is Bre Podgorski from American Idol Season 21?
1) As mentioned above, she is not only a singer-songwriter, but a producer and pianist. More specifically, she is a dueling piano bar player, which means she entertains the audience as she plays. This means she’s not only a talented singer, but she has a knack for reading a room. Check out a “Day in My Life of a Dueling Piano Player” reel she posted to Instagram:
2) Based in Los Angeles, California she wants her artistry to have a “female forward message of strength and empowerment” according to her official website bio. She has an impressive musical library already: a series of EP’s, albums, singles, a band project, Spotify covers and a self-produced album. Bre even co-produces her work with German collaborator Pascal Pahl.
3) She may know what she wants, but it hasn’t always been this way. At age 20, she relocated to Austin, Texas and worked a 9-5 tech job. But, she wasn’t fulfilled by this, so she traveled to New Zealand with as a volunteer with an environmental group. After the trip, she felt rejuvenated and ready to get back to her dream of pursuing music.
4) When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family. You can see her parents and 3 brothers in the 2022 family holiday photo below. Her brothers are Kyle, Peyton and Garrett, who’s also a musician.
5) Her new single “Rather Be Alone” comes out on February 10. Bre describes it as “if the message of #flowers by @mileycyrus and the sound of @charlieputh had a baby” because it’s all about loving yourself and not putting up with bad behavior from others when it comes to dating. She’s all about girl power!
