5 Facts About Ice Beanie from Shark Tank

  • by

You or someone you know has probably dealt with a migraine before. It’s not fun, especially when you’re in the middle of something, or have a million things to do. Enter: Ice Beanie, the full-coverage soothing beanie. It helps fight migraines, as well as other aches or injuries. Ice Beanie is going to be on Shark Tank, keep reading below for five facts on Ice Beanie.

Details on Ice Beanie

1) Nic Lamb is the founder of Ice Beanie. He’s a professional surfer, and he suffered a concussion in Portugal. When this occurred, Nic was stuck holding ice packs to his head. He grew tired of that, and wanted to invent something easier with the same impact as ice.

2) Ice Beanie is a beanie hat that goes over the entirety of the top of your head. You mold the gel inserts to the shape of your head, then freeze it for 45 mins – 1 hour. After which, you use it to alleviate any migraine pain.

3) The science behind it is pretty cool (pun intended). Cryotherapy (cold therapy) has been around for years, and relieves tons of aches and pains in the body. So, using it for your head is a beneficial idea. Putting something cold to the pained area refocuses the brain. Then, you feel the cold, not the pain.

5) Ice Beanie has over 1,000 Instagram followers and 1,800 likes on Facebook. They’ve been featured on ESPN, and are even available to shop on Amazon. Whether it’s expansion or inventory, perhaps one of the sharks can take it to the next level.

Update

Seeking $50K for a 20% stake.

Kevin O’Leary said, “You have a good plan, it’s just the size of the market. I think it’s going to be difficult to acquire customers to scale. This is my own opinion, a certain kind of person will put ice on their head. I wish you the best. For me, this just not the journey I want to surf with. I’m out.”

Lori Greiner said, “Nick, you had a problem and came up with a solution, but I’m very dubious of investing with this because I’m concerned about your competition. While you’re great, and this is great, I just don’t think it’s the right investment for me. I’m sorry, I’m out.”

Mark Cuban said, “I’ll make you an offer, for $50K you’re a great partner, it’s a great idea. Worst case I could get them into the Mav’s locker room. I’ll give you the $50K, I want 30%. “

Nick countered 25% at $50K.

Mark agreed. Then Daymond John said, “Are you sure you didn’t want to hear my offer?”

Kevin O’Leary then reminds Nick that they haven’t heard from Robert Herjavec. Nick said, “I thought you (Robert) were out.” Mark tries to keep Nick in his corner so he doesn’t listen to the other offers.

Robert then says, “People get excited I get it, but you should never take the first offer my friend.” When asked if he was going to listen to the other offers, Nick said no that he wanted to take the offer Mark gave.

Daymond eggs him on and says, “You can open it up right now. and then said, I will give you $100K for 25%.”

Nick still sticks to his guns and says he will stick with the agreement he has with Mark.

The Final Verdict:

Mark Cuban invested in the Ice Beanie, $50K at 25% stake.
