It’s not just pizza, and it’s definitely not a cupcake. So, what is the Pizza Cupcake? It’s pizza made like a cupcake. If you’re curious to learn more about this unique food from its Shark Tank debut, keep reading below for five facts.

1) Michelle Jimenez-Meggiato and Andrea Meggiato are the creators. Michelle is Filipina-American, and Andrea is an Italian native. The two founded their business in 2018.

2) It’s literally like it sounds: pizza, in cupcake form! It’s stuffed with mozzarella cheese, and topped with tomato or pepperoni. The dough even melts in your mouth. The perk is that it’s easy to take on the go, thanks to its convenient size.

3) There’s just margherita and pepperoni flavors right now, and they’re available through their website. The Pizza Cupcake is working gluten-free and vegan options as we speak.

4) The fun pizza product has been featured in many media outlets, including The New York Post and Forbes.

5) For a family-owned business out of NYC, their social media is great. They’re close to 7,000 followers on Instagram, and have over 3,000 on Facebook. Perhaps those numbers will spark an interest in one of the sharks?

Update on Pizza Cupcake

They wanted $125K for a 5% stake in the business.

Kevin O’Leary said, “You haven’t even figured out yet how it’s all going to come together in terms of shipping a frozen product. I think you’re going to have some significant challenges, I’m out.”

Daymond John said “Here’s where I’m at. I’m not going to even get into the evaluation because you could be optimistic. Really, I just don’t think I would be the greatest partner. As soon as I saw this I said ‘this is Bantam Bagels in another category.’ I know other people out here who have stadiums and buddies with stadiums (referring to Mark Cuban). So I really wish you all the best, but in the best interest of being a good shark for you, I’m not the best partner for you. I’m out.”

Robert Herjavec said, “Look, I’m really torn. I think you’re going to probably get a better offer than I would have made you but man, you guys are the real deal. I’m out.”

Lori Greiner said, “First off, I think it’s amazingly delicious. Listen, you’re from Venice and you’re from New York, you guys know what you’re doing when it comes to pizza. I’m going to make you an offer because I think there’s really great synergy with my Bantam Bagels company. So Bantam Bagels, as you know, started with a stuffed bagel ball and we got into Starbucks nationwide and then we got into all the major grocery stores freezer sections. So, it might be fun for them to also be involved. I’m going to make you an offer. $125K for 20%. “

Mark Cuban said, “If you guys want to stay frozen, working with Bantam is the way to go. Here’s the thing. Selling frozen is hard as Lori will attest to, as we’ve all done. Getting into the space is really hard. For those reasons, I’m out.”

Michelle countered with $125K for 10% to Lori Greiner.

Lori said, “My bottomline would be 15%.”

Michelle countered at $125K for 12.5%.

Lori said, “You know what, listen, you will love me, 15%.”

Michelle countered at $150K for 15%.

Lori said, “$125K for 15%, I promise you you will love me.”

Lori said, “the thing that is so invaluable is the learning experience. I didn’t have a mentor, I learned everything by myself. If someone could just come and sit with me for one day and I can save them two years worth of time, also the connections.”

Michelle tried to give another counteroffer. $125K for 12.5% and 2.5% in advisory shares.”

Lori accepted the offer.
