Jack Blocker is one of the contestants rumored to have earned a golden ticket on season 22 of American Idol. The charismatic musician is certainly making a name for himself. Now, he’s taking to the Idol stage and auditioning for the judging panel. But, before the February 18 premiere, learn more about Jack below, including hometown, music journey, education and relationship.
1) Jack is from Dallas, Texas. While he is a performer, Blocker also dabbles in design work. Beginning in his early teens, Jack’s knack for design led him to work on local gallery projects in Texas, according to Canvas Rebel.
2) However, by the time college came around, his music career took off too. He is one-half of the alternative rock duo Rightfield with his friend Reed Hoelscher. They secured an independent deal, which took them touring and got their name out into the music world. They have two albums recorded already.
3) For his solo act though, Jack took a different direction sound-wise. His musical style is considered to be folk. Musical heroes include The Avett Brothers, Mumford & Sons and Willie Nelson. But, don’t worry: Jack and Reed don’t plan on stopping the band. Between his solo act and band work, Blocker’s got an entire catalog of music online.
4) In 2020, Jack got engaged to his girlfriend Georgia. They were married in summer 2021. He often posts about his wife since a lot of people look forward to seeing their relationship via his social media.

5) Blocker studied at the University of Arkansas and graduated in 2021. It’s also where he and friend-turned-bandmate Reed reconnected. Jack attended Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, TX for high school, per his LinkedIn.
