Ryan’s Barkery Update from Shark Tank

  • by

Dogs are “man’s best friend.” In Ryan Kelly’s opinion, that statement couldn’t be truer. So, he set out to create a line of tasty treats for dogs. At the time, his business venture, Ry’s Ruffery, appeared on Shark Tank in season 5. It was later renamed to Ryan’s Barkery, and in 2018, were in pet stores all over the country. So, where are they now? Find out below.

Ryan’s Barkery: a Shark Tank Update

1) Ryan Kelly was only 10 years old at the time of his Shark Tank pitch. Ryan and his mom, Daniella, appeared on the episode. They asked for $25,000 for 25%, which is precisely what they got.

2) The shark they made a deal with was Barbara Corcoran. According to CNBC, the deal almost didn’t happen because of Daniella’s health. She had a stroke, which almost prevented her from pursuing the show. Luckily, they were able to appear and snag a deal.

3) In the few years following Shark Tank, the Kelly’s went from using their kitchen to whip up the treats, to needing a co-packer. They went from selling them at local events to stores like PetSmart and Wegman’s. As of 2018, they were sold exclusively online.

4) It doesn’t appear that the “dog treat bakery” is in business anymore. You can’t access their website, and their social media pages are dormant. They haven’t posted anything online since 2018.

5) Ryan’s the youngest contestant to ever appear on Shark Tank (at age 10). Now, he’s a teenager; no longer a business kid. He learned a lot from his experience on the show, and still has a passion for animals. Who knows, we might see him invent something else again! The sky’s the limit for Ryan.
