Sheets Laundry Club from Shark Tank – 5 Facts & Update
Laundry is one chore people either love or hate. Sheets Laundry Club debuted on Shark Tank season 13 with a mission of making things easier in that department. The sustainable company produces plastic-free sheets that are far better for the planet than traditional detergents. Learn more about the business below, and where they are now with our update.
An Update on Sheets Laundry Club from Shark Tank
1) Chris Videau partnered with his friend Chris Campbell to create the detergent sheets. Chris was an Army pilot, and saw firsthand how single-use plastics affected the environment. His lungs unfortunately suffered from the plastic fumes burning because it created terrible air quality. This is when Videau knew he needed to create something better.
2) The plastic-free detergent sheets leave laundry fresh and clean without any of the plastic waste left behind from traditional laundry supplies. All you do is toss one into the washing machine with whatever load of laundry you have in there.
3) During their episode, the duo asked for $500,000 in exchange for 5% equity. Their sales backed it up, as they had lifetime sales of $7 million – and they only launched in January 2020! Impressed by this, guest shark Daniel Lubetzky invested $500,000 for 8% equity and 2% in advisory shares.
4) They have since expanded to create products for your kitchen and personal care. Dishwasher detergent to deodorant, there’s a sustainable, all-natural product for you waiting on their website. They even expanded their laundry supplies, with in-wash scent boosters and dryer sheets. Shop it all here. It is also available on Amazon.
5) Videau and Campbell are excited to work with Lubetzky because he already has connections within the sustainability space. Having a shark who knows their industry is instrumental in growing their business. They want to expand into the global market, so hopefully Daniel can help get them there.
