Meet James Perdue from American Idol

  • by

American Idol is through with their auditions for season 19 and going onto the Hollywood Rounds. This is where you will see the contestants who received a golden ticket – one contestant taking part is James Perdue. Before the March 21 episode, we gathered five facts about him. So, if you want to learn more, keep reading below.

Get to Know James Perdue

1) He’s a father. He’s a loving dad to his kids. It doesn’t appear he has current photos of them on his social media. But, if you go off his IG page, in 2018 he posted a photo of 4 children: 1 girl and 3 boys. How adorable are they? See the photo below for proof:

2) He recorded 3 different songs for his Idol audition. He posted a couple to his YouTube channel. He covered Zac Brown Band’s “Chicken Fried” and Randy Houser’s “Like a Cowboy.”

3) He is obviously influenced by country music. There’s a little bit of a twang in his voice, which goes along with that southern vibe. Surprisingly, he’s not from Nashville though. He’s from Beckley, West Virginia.

4) When he’s not singing, James enjoys outdoor activities. A couple of his favorites are fishing and hunting.

5) He doesn’t post a ton on social media, but, if you want to follow him, all his handles are @RealJamesPerdue. He has Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and yes, TikTok.

To see James in action, tune in to American Idol on March 21 at 8 PM ET, only on ABC.
