An Update on Kettle Gryp from Shark Tank

  • by

Kettle Gryp is a fitness product that was introduced on Shark Tank in 2017. It was invented by Michael Schaeffer, a personal trainer, and fitness enthusiast who noticed that there was a gap in the market for a portable and versatile kettlebell. The product is essentially a handle that can be attached to any standard dumbbell, instantly transforming it into a kettlebell. The concept of Kettle Gryp was simple, but it was revolutionary for the fitness industry.

Who is the Founder?

The founder of Kettle Gryp is Michael Schaeffer. Michael is a fitness enthusiast and personal trainer who developed the concept for Kettle Gryp after noticing a gap in the market for a portable and versatile kettlebell solution. He appeared on Shark Tank in 2017 to pitch his product and secure funding to bring it to market. The Sharks were impressed with his concept, and he ultimately secured an investment from Robert Herjavec. Since then, Michael has continued to grow and expand the Kettle Gryp brand, making it a popular choice for fitness enthusiasts and trainers alike.

Sadly, co-founder Andy Thomas passed away after his battle with cancer in January 2022. Shark Tank aired a beautiful tribute to him.

Best Part of the Kettle Gryp

One of the key features of Kettle Gryp is its portability. Unlike traditional kettlebells, which can be bulky and difficult to transport, Kettle Gryp is lightweight and compact. This makes it easy for people to take their workouts with them, whether they are traveling for business or pleasure. With Kettle Gryp, fitness enthusiasts no longer have to compromise their workout routine when they are away from home.

Another advantage of Kettle Gryp is its versatility. By attaching the handle to a dumbbell, users can create a range of different kettlebell exercises, including swings, cleans, and snatches. This means that they can work out multiple muscle groups, from the legs to the core, using just one piece of equipment.

Where Can You Buy It?

It is available on Amazon.com and on their official website.

Did they Strike a Deal?

Yes, Kettle Gryp did get a deal on Shark Tank. Michael Schaeffer, the founder of Kettle Gryp, pitched his product to the Sharks in Season 8, Episode 2. He asked for $50,000 in exchange for 10% equity in his company. Robert Herjavec was impressed with the product and made an offer of $50,000 for 20% equity, which Michael accepted.
