Get to Know Madison Watkins

1) Madison Watkins is a pop musician. Her latest single “Blinded” has a little bit of a retro accent to it, but is still very much a modern pop song about finding that special kind of someone. She’s released a music video for the track too. Check it out below:

2) American Idol isn’t Madison’s first reality singing competition show. In 2016, the then 21-year-old tried out for America’s Got Talent. She made it to the second round, and had a couple memorable moments. Her cover of James Bay’s “Let It Go” was simply stunning.

3) According to One Country, Madison’s biggest musical influence is Whitney Houston. No wonder she references “Whitney” in her latest song “Blinded!” If you asked her who she’d want to make music with today, her dream collaboration would be with Beyoncé.

4) Speaking of musical idols, she’s also a huge Tori Kelly fan. Coincidentally, Madison is a little reminiscent of the soulful pop artist with matching major curls. Although Madison’s hair is a sort of auburn and Tori’s hair is blonde, the signature look is unmistakable.

5) Madison’s been performing since she was younger. She got a standing ovation during her first performance. No wonder she’s been in stadiums, singing national anthems and other songs at sporting events like Lakers games! Course, with 349,000 streams on Spotify, and an average of 106,000 listeners, it’s easy to see why she’s so popular!

So, will Madison get a golden ticket? Find out when American Idol airs on March 14 at 8 PM ET, only on ABC.
