Pooch Selfie Update from Shark Tank

  • by

If you’re a dog owner, you know the struggle it is when you want to take a photo with your pup. Dogs are adorable, but not the best animals to sit still for a picture. That’s where Pooch Selfie comes in. The innovative attachment has a tennis ball which keeps the dog’s attention long enough for the owner to snap a picture. Find out what happened during and post-Shark Tank with this update below.

5 Facts About Pooch Selfie

1) Jason Hernandez created the dog picture-taking attachment. He has a background in engineering and sales, and is the CEO of Clever Dog Products, the overarching name behind Pooch Selfie.

2) On Shark Tank, he asked for $100,000 for 20%, according to Shark Tank Tales. He received that exact amount of money, but for 33.3% from Daymond John.

3) Around show time, it was available on Amazon. It has 4.2 stars and hundreds of positive reviews from happy customers. As always, you can purchase it on their official website too.

4) Unfortunately, there’s a bit of a price to pay with having such a popular product. Jason revealed to the panel that he’s had to deal with copycats quite often. Inc. reported that it was difficult for him to decide how to deal with these counterfeiters. While there are a couple other reputable pet-picture-taking products (e.g.: Genuine Fred Howligans Woofie), Jason’s is the one people flock to thanks to the show’s exposure.

5) In addition to being available online, Jason’s company inked deals with Target, WalMart, and Home Depot. His patented selfie-attachment makes taking photos with your furry friend fun again. It’s something that really resonated with Daymond, who said: “I understand the passion to [protect] something and also the love of our little furry friends.”

Shark Tank season 13 premieres on October 8 at 8 PM on ABC. Catch up on other episodes of the show via Hulu or on demand.
