An Update on Three Day Rule Dating from Shark Tank

  • by

Three Day Rule Dating is an exclusive matchmaking service. Talia Goldstein founded it in 2010. One of the reasons it’s stayed in business so long is the high success rate. The company was featured on Shark Tank a few years later. But, at the time, there was a different face to the brand. Even though Val Brennan isn’t affiliated with TDR anymore, Talia’s managed the company flawlessly. They’ve undergone a few changes in their business model too. We dive into that and more below.

Where is Three Day Rule Dating from Shark Tank Now?

1) Talia Goldstein’s business partner was Val Brennan. Val appeared on Shark Tank to present TDR to the investment panel. Unfortunately, they did not snag a deal with the sharks. You can see Val’s pitch below from season 4 of the show.

2) Since Val’s departure, TDR went from a “private dating club” type of site, to experimenting with facial recognition software. According to MTV, Three Day Rule partnered with Match.com to bring this deal to life.

3) Even though the company’s based out of Los Angeles, California, they’ve branched out into major cities like Boston and Chicago. NYC is a major market for them too, according to Cosmopolitan. The magazine reported that the majority of Talia’s clients are business professionals in their 30s. You can sign up for the service and pay for coaching, styling, and photography for your database profile.

4) Currently, there are 46 matchmakers, 7 dating coaches, and one personal stylist company. Bree Jacoby is the founder of her namesake personal styling brand, and when you sign up on TDR, you get access to her, or one of her personal stylists.

5) Three Day Rule’s been featured on GMA, and in other media outlets like Business Insider, Marie Claire, and TIME. They’ve been around for over 10 years now, and are still relevant. TDR’s been reinterviewed for multiple outlets, from 2014-2020. Even more recent was Talia’s mention in The New York Times, which she posted about below.

You can follow Talia Goldstein @taliagolds, and TDR on Instagram @threedayrule. Shark Tank will be back for season 13 soon; season 12 episodes are available to stream on Hulu or on demand.
