5 Facts on Buckle Me from Shark Tank

  • by

You no longer have to choose between safety and comfort with Buckle Me baby coats. Parents and caretakers alike love this innovative, new way that kids can be cozy and secure in their car seats. The business has been so successful that they’ve secured a spot on this week’s Shark Tank. Keep reading to learn more about Buckle Me.

Details on Buckle Me

1) Buckle Me was invented by Dahlia Rizk, a mom who wanted to provide kids everywhere with stylish coats, and give parents peace of mind that they’d be safe wearing them. That’s where her idea of Buckle Me baby coats came into play.

2) Dahlia’s business venture won second place and a 20,000 prize from Nationwide and BlueVine’s Pitch to Win contest. She spent countless hours researching and came up with the perfect design to her coats; it’s even been approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

3) How it works is that the coat itself splits to make room for harnesses that traditional car seats have. The sleeves are longer to accommodate a growing child, and the shorter hem ensures no bunching in the back, which allows for a comfortable fit. Check out the video below for a mini tutorial.

4) Right now, people can purchase the coats from Amazon, buybuyBABY, as well as Bed Bath & Beyond. They come in “Toasty,” (original design) “Toastier,” (more neck coverage) and “Toastiest” (removable hood and sherpa lining). The second and third tier coats have the longer sleeves too.

5) Social media has helped Dahlia’s business grow (their Instagram boasts over 15,000 followers!), but she needs assistance when it comes to inventory, since there’s been demand for more colors. Will her pitch entice the sharks enough to help out?
