1) Nancy Kalish is the founder of Rule Breaker Snacks. She’s a former health journalist (mainly for Cosmopolitan Magazine and Oprah Magazine) and health coach that’s always had a sweet tooth. Problem was, lots of the snacks weren’t the healthiest to eat. So, she decided to fix that with her idea.
2) Rule Breaker Snacks are vegan, free of nuts and gluten, and are non-GMO. The unique thing about these snacks are that the first ingredient is chickpeas. Nancy came up with this idea while attempting to bake black bean-based brownies. While those didn’t turn out great, it inspired her to keep trying more recipes!
3) Right now there are brownies, cookies, and snack bites of the same nature. The flavors include: deep chocolate brownies, chocolate chunk, birthday cake, and p’nutter chocolate chip blondies. Those four flavors are available in the snack bites too.
4) You can currently find Rule Breaker Snacks in select grocer and health food stores. And yes, they are also on Amazon!
5) Even better? They’re safe for kids to take to school because they are nut-free (nuts are one of the most common allergens in kids). Therefore, anyone can enjoy these tasty snacks without any of the guilt – or sugar, for that matter.
Did Rule Breaker Snacks Get a Deal on ‘Shark Tank?’
“My eyes pop open every morning at 5am and I cannot wait to get to my desk,” the founder said as she attempted to convince the sharks to invest in her product. However, due to Nancy’s amount of debt in the company none of the sharks gave her a deal. They did guide her though recommending she focus on growing her business online.
After so much publicity on Shark Tank, we can imagine her sales will boom!
