SHARK TANK – “1403” – “Shark Tank” airing FRIDAY, OCT. 7 (8:00-9:01 p.m. EDT), on ABC. (ABC/Christopher Willard) KHEEDHIM OH, MYUNG OH

5 Facts & Update on Mama O’s Premium Kimchi

1) Mama O’s Premium Kimchi is a company that makes kimchi and a vegan kimchi paste. What makes their products unique is their blend of natural, good for you ingredients. Not only that, but it actually tastes great, and is vegan.

2) Kheedim Oh is the founder. Apparently, he never intended to start a company, he simply needed some kimchi. Since his parents lived far away, going to them to get a jar wasn’t convenient. So, he asked his mom to teach him how to make it himself. The name Mama O actually comes from his mother.

3) If you like spicy kimchi, there’s something from the brand for you. They have super spicy available for a limited time. Their kimchi is cabbage based with fish sauce, and is all made by hand the traditional way in Brooklyn, New York.

4) In addition to the kimchi and paste, there are dehydrated flakes, sauce, and DIY kits for at-home use. Flavors include the original (traditional kimchi), daikon, and baby bok choy. As mentioned above, you can shop them on Amazon, at stores like Swanson Health, WalMart, or Williams-Sonoma, and on their website

5) Since starting his business in 2009, Kheedim has been featured in media outlets like Business Insider and Entrepreneur magazine. Perhaps all the press will impress the sharks and help him secure a deal. With great tasting, healthy kimchi, hopefully one of the sharks will bite.
