Update on CODI from Shark Tank 2022

Did CODI and Pillar Learning get a deal on Shark Tank?

They entered the tank requesting $500,000 for 10% of their CODI robot company. Pretty quickly within the segment, all the sharks go out citing the idea children will become bored with it (Robert Herjavec) or that Amazon and Google have similar products (Kevin O’Leary). However, the guys continue to promote their robot saying they project $16 million in sales and need a shark who will help them get there. As they’re about to leave without a deal, Robert Herjavec jumps back in offering $500,000 for 25% which is accepted.

Watch how it all went down.

Did the deal close between CODI and Robert Herjavec?

Unfortunately this deal didn’t close and CODI is not part of Robert’s portfolio of Shark Tank companies.

This didn’t stop CODI though which is under the company, “Pillar Learning.” They continued to develop and promote their invention. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear too strong. Their Instagram with 8.8K followers was last updated in 2021 as was their Facebook with 5.9K followers. The product is available on their website and is currently being discounted from $149.99 to $124.99.

You can also find CODI on Amazon. It has 260 ratings with a healthy 4.1 out of 5 stars. The last reviews were in January of 2022.

Where is Pillar Learning today?

William Mock, Dayu Yang, and Chris Oslebo all partnered on CODI and Pillar Learning. Here is where they are today:

William Mock lists his involvement in Pillar Learning as “part time” with a title of “
Co-Founder & Head of Education and Content.” In addition to this, his full-time gig is “Director of Social Enterprise and Partnerships” for Students Rising Above since 2021.

Dayu Yang also founded a company named “EcommOps” which is “a revolutionary sourcing and fulfillment company specialized in supporting large Ecommerce brands in building out a flexible and agile China supply chain.” He is currently working on this company.

Chris Oslebo is still working on Pillar Learning and keeping this as his top priority.

More Details on CODI and Pillar Learning

1) CODI is the first invention from William Mock, Dayu Yang and Chris Oslebo’s company, Pillar Learning. The three men have educational and business backgrounds, took their strengths and used them to help create this genius idea.

2) CODI uses AI and voice technologies to engage children in personalized content. In slightly simpler terms, CODI teaches activities, tells stories, sings songs, etc. all to help kids learn.

3) Even cooler? Parents and kids get in on the fun. Parents control the device via a mobile app; kids get outfits to dress up their toy in. CODI can transform into a monkey, dinosaur, unicorn, a firefighter, doctor, and more. How cool is that?

4) While William, Dayu, and Chris only have the one product, it’s made a big impact. They’ve been featured in Mothering, Texas Lifestyle Magazine, and goop, just to name a few.

5) Perhaps they’re thinking of retail space, or maybe they need help with marketing. Whatever their next step is, hopefully a shark can help them get there.

Codi the Storytelling Robot is available for sale on Amazon.com!
